James R. Baumgardt, Partner
Mr. Baumgardt currently serves on the Board of NeoChord Inc, a development stage company initially focused on the treatment of mitral valve regurgitation. He is a member of the Advisory Boards at the Butler University School of Business and Purdue University School of Biomedical Engineering. He previously served as Director of Laserscope. He serves as a Trustee of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, where he has also volunteered, and Chairman of Rose-Hulman Ventures, a $55 million venture capital fund.

Mr. Baumgardt served as the President of the Guidant Foundation until Guidant Corporation's merger into Boston Scientific in April 2006. He also served as non-executive Chairman of Suros Surgical Systems until its acquisition by Hologic. He was a founding investor in Suros Surgical Systems and provided leadership during its $12 million financing.

He previously served as President of Guidant Sales Corporation, where he tripled sales volume in five years, and was one of the key Founders that took the company public in 1994. He was also Executive Director of Business Development at both Guidant Corporation and Eli Lilly & Company. Mr. Baumgardt was a co-founder of Twilight Venture Partners in 2002.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a Masters of Business Administration from Butler University.
